Port Stephens Council have released their new Development Control Plan

The Port Stephens Development Control Plan 2014 (the DCP) was adopted by Port Stephens Council on Tuesday, 14 July 2015 and has been in effect from Thursday, 6 August 2015.

Transitional arrangements under the DCP allow for development applications to either draw on the provisions of the Port Stephens Development Control Plan 2013 or the DCP for a period of three months until Thursday, 29 October 2015.

A Development Control Plan (DCP) is prepared in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and put into effect by Council. DCPs provide detailed design and planning guidelines to supplement the Local Environmental Plans.

It enables applicants to prepare their assessments in accordance with a set of guidelines.
